I am an ecologist broadly interested in mitigating the impacts of global change on ecosystem functions and services. My research project (SOFT; Steering Organic Farming Transition), supported by the MSCA program, is focused on understanding the role of soil networks involving microbial communities for biogeochemical processes related to the functioning of agroecosystems. I am also particularly interested in steering the transition from conventional to organic agriculture using soil inoculants. Thus, I seek to apply ecological knowledge to the development of nature-based tools that can help to improve sustainable agriculture, including developing transferable protocols that may help to give life back to infertile soils, and regenerate healthy soils for healthy ecosystems and healthy people.
